PROGRAMS: Overview
The programs for this University will make the campus a complete learning center for the Resort. University degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level require the approval of the Degree Quality Assessment Board (DQAB) in Victoria. The proposed Whistler U campus degree foci are described on the following pages.
The campus will offer Academies which will focus on Fine Arts, Language with emphasis on ESL, Design, as well as Film and Animation. Each academy will be accredited by the Government established Private Career Training Institutions Agency of BC (PCTIA).
The Campus will also operate a Leadership Center to cater corporate leadership training needs, an area which is experiencing very strong growth in our economy. This center could be modeled on such successful operations as the IBM Center at Palisades NY or the Aspen Institute in Colorado. However this center will have a distinctive Whistler stamp.
Finally, the campus will become a center for community learning programs which serve the needs identified by the local community. Both daytime and evening programming will enable community members of all ages to learn and grow in locally designed programs offered close to home.
